Has it ever been harder to be a young person? And has it ever been easier for older people to share their opinions about what’s best for “kids, tweens, teens, Zoomers, Alphas”?

Regardless of challenges or opinions other people might have, what matters most is that young people have agency in their own lives.

Turning to the question posed above – how do we know what’s best for young people? We ask them. After working with young leaders and advocates at the Youth Action Plan forum, it’s clear that there are many passionate, intelligent, committed young people leading for the good of their peers and for the benefit of South Australia.

As Matthew says in this delightful video, the forum was a collaboration. It showed just how engaged people are in changing the experience of young people for the better.

Big thanks to the Department of Human Services SA and Minister Nat Cook; Carclew; Robert and Lynette Taylor; and Katie Aspel for their roles in co-creating such a great experience and kudos to Channel 44 Adelaide for their excellent work in capturing the day so perfectly.
